Commuter Services

DeCamp Bus Lines operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, or national origin, in accordance with Title VI of Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.  Any person who believes she or he has been subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin, or wishing to obtain additional information regarding DeCamp Bus Lines Title VI obligations, may contact DeCamp Bus Lines Customer Service at (973) 783-7500.  A complaint or inquiry may also be filed by writing to DeCamp Bus Lines Customer Service -Title VI, 101 Greenwood Ave, PO Box 581, Montclair, NJ 07042.  A complaint must be filed within 180 days of the alleged discrimination.

DeCamp Bus Lines does not assume responsibility for inconvenience, expense or damage resulting from errors in timetables or failure to make connections.

To New York: Please have exact fare or ticket to help speed service.

From New York: Tickets are required for ‘boarding’ and may be purchased at ticket windows 24-28, Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Seniors age sixty-two (62) and older may ride at half fare at any time seven (7) days per week. Seniors boarding with cash must have proof of age and “blue script” issued by the State of New Jersey. Seniors boarding at the Port Authority Bus Terminal must have a “half fare” ticket. Cash and “blue script” cannot be accepted by the bus operator.

Disabled and Handicapped persons pay half fare at all times (Passengers must have I.D. card and script issued by state of New Jersey).

Children over 40 inches must pay full fare.

Wheel chair accessible equipment is available by calling DeCamp Bus Lines with 48 hours advanced notice (Leave name and number to confirm pickup time and location).

DeCamp Bus Lines is not responsible for lost or stolen items (The Lost and Found office may be reached 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday).

New Jersey Law prohibits smoking on buses.

Consumption of food or beverages is prohibited on buses.

Cellular telephone use is prohibited on buses.

Packages of any kind should not be placed in the aisle way, or in a position to interfere with free access to the entrance or exits.

Bicycles are prohibited on buses.

Seeing-eye dogs accompanying blind passengers will be transported.

Dogs, cats, birds, and other live animals must be properly retained in an appropriate case for safe and secure transportation.

Charter Services

Once you have booked a date, we will fax you a copy of the contract as well as mail a hard copy to you. Read it over and make sure there are no errors. If so, a new contract document will be prepared and furnished to you.

If the information is correct, sign and return the contract along with a two hundred $200 dollar deposit per bus. The remaining balance of your trip is due no later than three weeks before the trip. If you need to cancel, a seven (7) day notice is required prior to departure, otherwise a cancellation fee of $250 per bus will be charged. Vehicles reporting to a departure point that are not used will be charged $350.

Payments Accepted: Cash, Checks, Money Orders, and Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).

Tolls, parking, and other charges are to be paid by the customer unless otherwise specified. Responsibility for obtaining permits to enter parks, or municipalities, where required is also the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise specified.

A driver has 15 hours on duty and 10 hours driving time in (1) one calendar day, or period of time. After 15 hours on duty time, a driver must have at least 8 hours off duty. Drivers must follow all FTA regulations.

The customer will be responsible for any damages to the vehicle(s) caused by the passengers. Should the vehicle require excess cleaning, keeping it out of service on the following day, there will be additional cleaning charges.

We are not liable for the loss of any items of personal property, or baggage, stored in either the overhead racks inside the bus, or the luggage compartments underneath the bus. Each member of a group is responsible for his/her own personal property and baggage. Each person is responsible for removing all of his/her personal property and baggage from the bus at the end of each day of travel, and at the end of the trip. We do not assume any liability for baggage.
